Mom and pop

Only North Americans refer to small businesses this way, so I think there's a good case for removing this given the global nature of the subject. Architypist2 (talk) 08:55, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Hey lots of people around the world prefer this. Oikuchu (talk) 13:31, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Revisions to "Problems" section required

The two headlines "Small Business Financial Factors" and "Small Business Loan Programs and Debt Financing" do not belong in the "Problems faced by small businesses" section, if on this page at all. Neither even attempt to address a single problem that small businesses face. The former rambles on about 18th and 19th Century pioneers on the frontiers of America, and the latter talks about the BENEFITS that small businesses gain from government programs, and uses exclamation points when stating statistical facts!

Problem are faced by developing countries. Oikuchu (talk) 13:35, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

not about small businesses, not being wikified

This article, apart from not nj₧ being wikified, is not about small businesses. It looks more like advice on how to run a small business. This could be a separate section of the article, but it should not be the entire contents of the article. The article should at least begin with what a small business is and/or what qualifies as a small business.

A seperate issue is that it looks like the text was lifted straight off the Internet. I didn't do too much googling, but many of the phrases are so generic that they could come from dozens of places.

I agree with that completely - especially the section on 10 reasons why a business fails, looks like it's straight from a textbook perhaps. --Jonohill 01:53, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Normally I'd attack this myself, but can't right now. Anyone else? —Frecklefoot 18:35 24 Jul 2003 (UTC)

The part about the end about Bush is just off topic.

Agreed. This page is not helpful in its current state. I too would like to see some changes made here. Will make some as time allows. --Small business 18:33, 4 May 2004 (UTC)

No it is absolutely correct.
