DIY Open Source Wind Turbines

[edit]

I suggest a Wikibook about DIY Open Source Wind Turbines. --Mac (talk) 07:32, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Profitable

[edit]

It should be noted in the article that small wind turbines are only profitable after 18 to 30 years (with best turbines namely montana and skystream), and this only trough government subsidy (Belgium). See enerpedia.be Purchasing price: 10 000-30 000 € per unit (generates some 45-2180kwh in 10months) Models used: see http://provincie.zeeland.nl/milieu_natuur/windenergie/kleine_windturbines/de_turbines

As such, perhaps the article should note that commercial (not DIY) turbines are not really profitable.

Neither DIY are. Follow that link about "open source" turbines and check out from which junk they are suggesting to build a tower for it. Years of service, hah. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.77.20.113 (talk) 17:53, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Earth4Energy

[edit]

Earth4Energy has been pretty comprehensively debunked at http://www.nlcpr.com/Deceptions6.php - suggest that it is not relisted. Shritwod (talk) 15:33, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New developments

[edit]

The new developments section had become nothing more than a list of adverts for new products. I removed the section; but wanted to post a mention here so a discussion can be started to determine if the community feels there are pieces of material that could be salvaged into a prose paragraph or two. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 00:38, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Very small wind turbines

[edit]

what about very small wind turbines (ie as used by travellers) see http://www.hymini.com/html/HYmini.html ?

How much coverage do you think this pointless toy is worth? --Wtshymanski (talk) 20:18, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Footnote 4 points to something completely unrelated, the article is talking about disruptive effects of obstacles and their boundary layers, but the link is a page about a paper about a wrench... http://ntrs.nasa.gov/search.jsp?R=224426&id=2&as=false&or=false&qs=Ns%3DPublicationYear%257c1%26N%3D4294892717 Hyrulio (talk) 04:24, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ryse Energy

[edit]

Is this a fact or a biased opinion "Ryse Energy are the only small wind turbine manufacturer to produce both horizontal axis wind turbines, and vertical axis wind turbines" I added a citation needed — Preceding unsigned comment added by Burnt micah (talkcontribs) 05:19, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
