Similarities in Avatar (2009 film)
[edit]In Disquiet, the Forest is placed on the planet Pandora. The name of the main protagonist's forest wife is Nava. The Forest people live in full harmony with the Forest in non-mechanical, bio-technological civilization.
Peretz or Pepper
[edit]While in Russian language "peretz" does indeed mean pepper, given names should not be translated, and what the Russian speaking readers might not have realized is, that Peretz is a common, normal, wide spread Jewish Hebrew given name (among the Ashkenazi Yiddish speaking Russia's Jews of the past as well as Hebrew speaking Ashenazi and Mizrahi Jews in general, then and today). Strugatsky's certainly demonstrated their acquaintance with Jewish minutiae in more than one place, having a Jewish father (judging from their name).
It is possible that English translation has the name translated as Pepper (judging from comments on the Web; I don't have access to it) but even if it did, it shouldn't have; and our article is about the novel, not its translation. WillNess (talk) 11:23, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
