I changed the name of this article to "social practice (art)" from "social practice art". This is how it's most commonly described, such as in this New York Times article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikikana (talk • contribs) 23:35, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Uninvolved encyclopedic language

Large parts of the article, especially some of the recently added content, do not describe the topic from an uninvolved but from an artist's point of view. A lot of possibly correct statements are bloated with subjective phrases and artistic jargon. Several other sections read like "How to create socially engaged art?", and not like an encyclopedic summary of "What is socially engaged art?". Goals, challenges and achievements should be described from an observer's point of view, not by members of this arts movement itself. The article needs some work to reduce the usage of involved sources, to trim subjective phrases and artistic jargon, and to rephrase the content from a neutral encyclopedic PoV. Trimmed a lot of indiscriminate name dropping for involved events and organizations. If these events are truely significant from an encyclopedic PoV, they should be referenced to independent sources with uninvolved in-depth coverage, not to self-published articles and routine announcements. Also, as mentioned above, the language was far from neutral in most of these sections. GermanJoe (talk) 16:48, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
