Regardless of what an fine authority like Wikipedia might say, No, characters are representations that may be fictional or based in reality. older ≠ wiser02:33, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Even if somehow "character" is different than "fictional character", the clarification (if it's clarifying) isn't needed to get the reader to the article sought. JHunterJ (talk) 03:58, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Most simply, a fictional character is not properly classified under the header "People with the surname". I had to do a double-take when I read it. If the interest is to minimize distracting information, that is a problem. older ≠ wiser04:22, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. The character is a fictional person. I usually do a "Fictional" level-3 section under "People with the *name" level-2 heading, but not enough here for it. I'll try to remember to leave "fictional" in front of "character" if a separate section isn't warranted. -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:35, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
