==Proposed move/rename to Solesmes Abbey==

Untitled

[edit]

Reason: The present title is not good English. Most comparable articles are in the form "Foo Abbey", where Foo is the name of the place, and there is no reason why this should not be appropriate for this one too. The proposed name has already been used as a redirect. HeartofaDog 11:13, 29 April 2007 (UTC) I have scrapped the above proposal: in fact there are two Benedictine abbeys in Solesmes (one for men, one for women) and it makes better sense to distinguish them as St. Peter's Abbey, Solesmes and (St. Cecilia's Abbey, Solesmes, when the article is written) which is what I have now done instead. The result of the proposal was move to Solesmes Abbey. - Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 19:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(after several months thinking about it) This monastery is unusually well-known, and is generally referred to as Solesmes Abbey, so after long reflection I suggest this article should be renamed to that, as this is what most searchers would expect to find under that title. The second abbey, St. Cecilia's, is not nearly as well-known and it seems unlikely that anyone would expect to find it referred to just as Solesmes Abbey.
