Merge with Solomon Bayoh?

[edit]

Maybe I am mistaken, but it appears Olympedia and WA seem to believe these two athletes are a single person (who moved from Sierra Leone to the Netherlands)? Note the previous WA identifier of Solomon Bockarie redirects to the new ID, while the previous identifier of Solomon Bayoh (linked from the corresponding article) now ends on 404. It’d seem obvious except we have four wikis having (duplicate) articles on both names. --Mormegil (talk) 16:09, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I weep. Are we pretty confirmed that these are the same person? If so, ping me, and I'll merge. Joyous! | Talk 22:43, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Joyous!: Yes, I'd say we're pretty confirmed, given that there were only 3 athletes competeing for Sierra Leone in the 2008 olympics, and both pages agree that Solomon was one of them. That is, olympic page has that 2008 performance under the name Solomon Bockarie, while the archives Beijing site gives the same event performance (1st round 200m) under Solomon Bayoh. One can also imagine why the dates of birth might differ by 3 years given the history of migration (with 2015 nationality change). Klbrain (talk) 12:13, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
