since when are derogatory names banned off wikipedia? im from the area and i hear the word 'scummerset' alot, why not put i on the article?

Thinking it over, I don't think it's just because it's derogatory (although honestly, that doesn't help). I live there, and have never heard that phrase used. It's also certainly not official, so there's a strong question of reference. It's not like calling Fall River the "Spindle City" or Taunton the "Silver City". Put it in an article subsection if you must, but I certainly don't think it has any business being in the infobox. m13b 14:35, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request to add link to Somerset, MA page[edit]

Dear Somerset, MA page editors/administrators,

My name is Tracy and I am an employee for The Standard Times website (SouthCoastToday.com). I am currently trying to add some relevant links to the local towns of South Coast Massachusetts for public use and up to date local information. SouthCoastToday.com contains town specific pages for each of the towns and cities in South Coast Massachusetts. The page link for Somerset, MA is http://www.southcoasttoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=TOWN12 . This page contains all of the local news, events, photos, etc. specifically for Somerset, MA. I am writing today to request an addition for this link in your External Link section. If this is approved, can you please name the link SouthCoastToday.com/Somerset?

Also, please feel free to use any of the information on this page for the Wikipedia page. If you do use any of the information, please include us in your Reference link as SouthCoastToday.com/Somerset.

Thank You for your time and consideration of this link. I truely believe that this will be a useful addition for the public.
