table under infobox?

[edit]

What's the little table under the infobox about? I don't understand it or why it's there. Can anyway explain what it is before I decide to remove it! Govvy (talk) 22:28, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's back again, I still don't get that little table under the infobox. The contributor that put it there hasn't explained it, is it needed? Do you really need a box like that about his name? Govvy (talk) 19:10, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

page protection?

[edit]

We seem to get a lot of disruptive edits on Son's article over the last 2 to 3 months. Govvy (talk) 11:35, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

LG Images

[edit]

To all editors, the images which have Son with the LG robot hoover are all copyright from LG and are uploaded against rules. So can editors please be aware of this as I have already had the previous 2 deleted from commons. The current image that was put into the infobox is currently against copyright rules. Regards. Army Service

[edit]

Hi, many people say that Son will leave his national team and Tottenham and return to his homeland South Korea due to army service for 2 years, should we add this topic or wait until it's proved by Son himself ?? TDLWH (talk) 19:59, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

By whom? Sources? Also for a lot of countries representing the national football team can exempt that person. Govvy (talk) 22:36, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tottenham transfer fee

[edit]

Last night in the commentary they said he was brought for £18 mil, Sky Sports also report £18m in the article, the BBC ref cites mentions £22m but they are citing that amount from The Mirror article as noted [1], to [2]. We seem to have some conflicting information. Was wondering what we should go by. Govvy (talk) 11:20, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ultimately, there are always discrepancies in transfer fees reported except in the rare cases it has to be publicly announced for legal purposes. Transfer fees are complicated and often have many conditions so the buying club will often report to papers that it is the lowest possible sum and the selling club report the highest possible sum. Neither sum is likely to be incorrect, and what was eventually paid is likely to be inbetween those numbers. So, the information is fine as is I think. tottenham 2017/18 goal of the season <- not official. It's just twitter award. Official award is "tottenham supporters club goal of the season." Victor wanyama received that award. Not sonny. tottenham 2018/2019, 2019/2020 goal of the season that son received was "tottenham supporters club goal of the season." So, we should delete tottenham 2017/18 goal of the season. Urbansmoke (talk) 12:55, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: The information is sourced directly to the page of the club, which however is a dead link (the archive page is not helpful). Unless you can provide a source which shows this to be false, this should have stayed in. However, I'm removing it for different reasons. Pronunciation is wrong

[edit]

The current transcription looks like a heavily English-accented pronunciation of his name. It should be more like /son.hɯŋ.min/, but ideally someone proficient in Korean should edit it. --Ledsy (talk) 20:37, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Racist abuse in Germany and his sentiments towards Germany football fans

[edit]

Why there is no mention in this article regarding the racist abuse he suffered while he was in Germany and how he felt after defeating the German national team?

https://onefootball.com/en/news/tottenham-striker-heung-min-son-i-was-happy-to-see-germany-fans-cry-35391441 Son says he endured a lot of racism during his time in Germany with Hamburg SV. He recalled: "I moved to Germany very young, and I went through many very difficult and unthinkable things. "I was a victim of a lot of racism. And as I went through the difficult times, I thought a lot about getting revenge one day." Revenge came on June 27, 2018. Then he scored in the 2-0 victory that sent Germany out of the World Cup in the group stage. Germany was then the reigning world champion. "When people cry I want to comfort them, but when I saw the German people crying, I felt that I got revenge," Son said. 2A02:214C:8742:300:79DE:1DB2:29A0:BE7A (talk) 14:10, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the politician like image to a image that suggests that he is a footballer.

[edit]

Can't we change the image to some another image where he is in a jersey or something that suggests that he is a footballer. For reference you can check the pages of other footballers like Messi, Ronaldo, or Neymar. The current picture of Son looks like he is a politician or actor. In my opinion, a image of him in a jersey will be more appropriate. SushiKiwiBoi (talk) 11:01, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree 100% 181.203.58.113 (talk) 15:20, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The image demonstrates clearly what the subject looks like, and that's what our primary concern should be when selecting an infobox image. If that can be achieved with a photo of him on the pitch, then great, but the current image is absolutely fine. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:26, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Age to be changed to reflect change in South Korean law which means citizens are no longer born aged 1 (for 1st year) and then turn 2 at New Year.

Son Heung Min is 29 until July 8th. 90.241.251.117 (talk) 06:31, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Current source from FIFA gives his DOB as 8/7/1992, making him 30. Cannolis (talk) 07:37, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is about recent changes in South Korea to align with rest of the world for DoB, however the article was already inline with the governmental changes that has now occurred. Govvy (talk) 08:56, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
