If it originated in Spain, shouldn't it still be found in Spain? This short article mentions or suggests a Spanish origin 3 times but provides little evidence of it, except that it also exists in a city in the Philippines. 173.174.85.204 (talk) 18:14, 29 June 2017 (UTC) Eric[reply]
The article also states "For example, residents of Cavite, Philippines, were first introduced to the soup by Spaniards in the 1600s", which is a reliably-sourced sentence. That is why it is written as "It has been suggested that the dish may have originated in Spain", rather than stating that it originated in Spain as an absolute.
