Sound City Studios is in Van Nuys, CA and is where Nirvana's "Nevermind" was recorded along with the following records: Neil Young "After the Gold Rush," Ozzy Osbourne "No More Tears," Metallica "Death Magnetic," in addition to albums by Tom Petty, Ratt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slipknot, Slayer, Nine Inch Nails, Dixie Chicks, etc, and the Kyuss album "Welcome to Sky Valley."

Wasn't there a news report last year saying it had closed down?--Jacoblikesmetal (talk) 12:51, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The pictures of the Neve 8028 appear to show it being a 28 channel 16 group 16 track monitor, not 24 track monitor as mentioned in the page description. However it's been used with 24tk tape machines so maybe there's another 8 monitor returns added somewhere, but the desk does appear to be 28-16-16. Also does anyone know who the desk was built for? It has ppm metering which is very odd for a US recording studio, especially in the 1970s. My first console that I checked out when I worked as an engineer with Rupert Neve in 1974 was an 8024, so it's nice to see they are still going stong after all these years. 92.21.62.63 (talk) 11:39, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Discography" lists Elton John's "Caribou" - but the linked Caribou entry:

is silent about Sound City.
