The 1987 video production of Sparky and the Magic Piano is now available on DVD from Liberation Entertainment (http://www.libent.com/index.php?id=93,440,0,0,1,0)

On a side note, I would love to see a list of all the different Sparky adventures ever produced. I am personally aware of: - Sparky and the Talking Train - Sparky and the Magic Piano - Sparky's Magic Baton - Sparky's Magic Echo - Sparky's Music Mix-Up The first four are available on the "Sparky and the Magic Piano and other stores" CD by EMI (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sparkys-Magic-Piano-Other-Stories/dp/B000026MU0), while the last one listed there is available on the "Children's Favorites" 2-CD by Naxos (http://www.naxos.com/catalogue/item.asp?item_code=NA241312).

does somebody know how the piano's voice was generated?

I was thinking about this recently, and I'd thought it to be some sort of vocoder. Apparently the first vocoders were created about ten years before the recording was made, so it's feasible. This source https://www.fakebands.com/wiki/index.php?title=Sparky%27s_Magic_Piano says the 1987 version used a vocoder, but that doesn't say much about the 40s original. Nor does "Mr. Blue Sky" but ELO, but it does seem like a clue. There's no single "vocoder" device; it's more like a group of technologies. Rob Burbidge (talk) 15:06, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
