No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:58, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spearhead Land ElementSpearhead Lead Element – The article refers to "Spearhead Lead Element", as do the citations. I've no idea why this is currently at "Spearhead Land Element" Bondegezou (talk) 12:52, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can't offer sources but my usual experience would be to refer to it in documentation as the Spearhead Lead Element, at least it was each time I had dealings with it.
It's a PJHQ force element so whilst the main group is around an Inf unit there are frequently Air Farce elements and sometimesNavy. It can also be formed around a Commando, which is a Fleet rather than Land asset.

  • Move to Spearhead Lead Element as per ALR. Buckshot06 (talk) 01:25, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose. Both titles appear to be in use in sources, so either could potentially be valid. There seems to be a slight preference for "Spearhead Land Element" in a Google Books search though, so I'd say keep the article at its current stable title "Spearhead Land Element", but setup a redirect from the other term, and include it in the lead. --Elonka 00:09, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Readiness[edit]

I'm inclined to remove the whole "readiness" section as most of it isn't related to Spearhead, but is part of the routine business of running the unit. Everyone has to maintain Next of Kin, Passports and innoculations as a matter of course. Unit and sub-unit training takes place and it's always scrutinised for appropriateness and usefulness.

I'm not convinced that it says anyhting that pertains to this subject.

Naming nonsense[edit]

I have to concede that I'm somewhat perplexed that the MoD website can refer to both the Sperhead Lead Element and the Spearhead Land Element in different articles. That said I've written material for the MoD website and been hesitant to put my name to it after the web editor had butchered it.

We're now stuck in a situation with the article under the incorrect name, so having to make linguistic twists to explain it. So how do we proceed? Do we just use the correct term anyway or do we imply that the correct term is wrong and the incorrect term is correct?
