I don't know about other parts of the world, but at least in the western US, "spindle" or "spindle shrub" is completely unknown; nurseries invariably sell "euonymus" modified with various adjectives. Moving under the genus name seems like a good idea in this case. Stan 01:03, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

common name "spindle"[edit]

In the eastern United States, where Eunymous americana grows, it is called "Strawberry bush" or "Hearts a'bustin with love". It is not, and as far as I can tell, has never been called "strawberry bush spindle" in common usage in its native range. MPF, what is the point of changing my edit back to this essentially incorrect common name? I've got better things to do with my time than get involved in an editing war, but I would like to have an answer to this. Steve Baskauf 10:58, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "excessive" external links[edit]

MPF, I would also like to know why you removed the external links from this article? At the present there is NO information in wikipedia on E. alata, E. americana, E. atropurpurea, and E. fortunei as well as NO external links period for this article, so I can hardly see how four external links could be called excessive. If you felt that these links were inappropriately placed on the genus page, then why didn't you create stubs for those species and move the external links there rather than deleting them. I consider this akin to vandalism, but out of respect to you as the original author of the article, I didn't put them back. 11:05, 29 April 2006‎ Baskaufs (talk | contribs)
