Advertising on "Barf" bags

[edit]

I don't understand why my edit it was removed. I had mentioned that Spirit Airline has/had a campaign to advertise on sick bags. Someone removed it, claiming that it couldn't be cited. I think it is more in the spirit of community to add citations instead of removing content people took time to contribute when the citations can easily found. If citations can be "easily found", find them yourself and add them. The onus is not on other editors to do the job. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 11:52, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
that kinda makes a good point Connorj2341 (talk) 22:19, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Section "Early years (1964–2006)" : Foundation date — and where "Charter One" came from

[edit]

As per source name="history", which references to Spirit Airlines History.pdf on the company's, the year that the company was founded (as Charter One) was 1983, not 1980 as the "(Early) years (1964-2006)" section previously stated.
Unfortunately (also whilst editting on two wiki's at the same time, I recorded the exact opposite of the correction in the edit history:

00:00, 6 June 2018‎ Martix (talk | contribs)‎ . . (33,352 bytes) (+86)‎ . . (→‎Early years (1964–2006): Correction (Charter One was founded in 1980, not 1983 https://www.spirit.com/Content/Documents/en-US/Spirit%20Airlines%20History.pdf ; ref name="history"))

I did however apply a proper correction to the article; just wanted to make this clear as it now may seem confusing (from the edit-history allone).

A quote from the forementioned PDF-file:

That PDf-file also clarifies that the air carrier "Charter One" is a continuation of "Ground Air Transfer, Inc." (until then, regardless of the word Air in its name, was a delivery service not using airplanes (but presumably trucks and cars). I Underlined that bit in the quoted bit above).
In my perception however (i.e. the way I read this part), the way that this "Early years"-section in the article is written now, does not seem to show any link whatsoever between "Ground Air Transfer, Inc." and "Charter One"; it is up to the reader (as I did) to guess whether these were separate companies joining forces (joint venture), whether they merged, whether one was bought by the other, or—which is was factually happened (according to the PDF-file referred to above), but is not explained in the article—whether "Ground Air Transfer, Inc." transformed into "Charter One". In a literal sense, the article describes the history of the "Clipper Trucker company" up to 1972, abandons that topic and starts describing the foundation of a completely different, unrelated company called "Charter One", not explaining any ties between the two? It was not until I read the History-PDF on Spirit Airlines website (quoted from above) when it became fully clear to me—and when I discovered the error with the foundation year (1983 rather than 1980 as the article formerly stated). If any native-English speakers agree with me on the latter issue I pointed out, then I kindly request (/leave it up to those native speakers) to correct or clarify this part of the section describing the company's history. A321neo seating

[edit]

Where are we getting the data that Spirit will put 235 seats on the A321neo? (Same with the Frontier Airlines page, it says they are putting 240 seats on them, but no sources are given.) I have not seen any sources on the matter, and until the first airplane actually gets delivered, there is no other way to know. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 11:53, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
