One big, gushy, affectionate advertisement[edit]

I've been to Spivey Hall. Don't get me wrong; I like it. This article was in horrible shape, however. That someone would advertise, and gush, and prattle on in such an unprofessional and unencyclopedic, self-promoting tone made me embarrassed for Clayton State University and Spivey Hall.

I didn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I modified, trimmed, and tried to keep what encyclopedic scraps were buried in all this candied-up brochure material, but there's no doubt that this article can be much better. Let's try to keep it objective and well-cited from here on out, and provide useful information to wikipedia's readers. They can then come to their own conclusions about how great or not great Spivey Hall is. -Matt S. (talk) 22:02, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's great, and we appreciate it. Fact is, though, most people don't know how to write very well. It may have seemed entirely appropriate to that writer for them to go on in the kind of detail you described, as many people equate volume with usefulness. We're all just doing the best we can, right? – AndyFielding (talk) 05:11, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seat math problem[edit]

Its seating capacity is 492 (476 in the orchestra and 16 box seats).

Unless each of those boxes contains just one seat, I think we have a math problem, Jim. – AndyFielding (talk) 05:12, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
