Fair use rationale for Image:Salinas Olympic Committee.JPG

Image:Salinas Olympic Committee.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Does anyone know anything about gymnastics in PR? I know there is that Diego Lizardi who just died yesterday, but I'm afraid I don't know enough to build articles about gymnastics or about him. ~RayLast «Talk!» 19:52, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

There is not probably enough information to fill a new article yet, gymnastics began having some exposition with Diego who won medals in the GCAC and Pan American Games, in the last Olympic cicle the gymnastics team has become a juggernaut in America, winning gold medals as a team in the 2006 GCAC and 2007 Pan American Games, as well as several individual medals in both competitions. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

The image Image:Escobar sixto.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Jose Juan Barea not the first puertorican player in a championship NBA team.

With all due respect, I believe Jose Juan Barea is not the first puertorican player in a championship NBA team. I understand that Alfred "Butch" Lee played in the 1980 Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship team. His jersey was number 15. This was the rookie year for Magic Johnson where he had to play at center position due to a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar injury in the finals. In fact, the famous video of Magic Johnson celebrating, I believe is "Butch" Lee whom Magic is hugging. Here I leave you a link for corroboration: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/LAL/1980.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by XXGEOMANXx (talkcontribs) 14:25, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

  • You are right! Jose Juan Barea is not the first Puerto Rican player in a championship NBA team. He is, however the first Puerto Rican player to play in the "Finals" and to earn the Champioship ring. Lee did play for the 79-80 Lakers Team which eventaully won the NBA Finals. He even played in the advanced playoffs, but was unable to play in the "Final" because of his injuries. I will make the proper notation. Tony the Marine (talk) 16:58, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
