Moved this text from the main article. Its about fortifications in Malta generally rather than St Marks tower specifically. Its also misleading, the Wignacourt tower in St Pauls bay is one of the seven "Wignacourt" towers rather than a De Redin tower like St Marks.

Nice to know that the Wignacourt tower is now in good condition.

The oldest of these towers, the Wignacourt tower in St. Paul's Bay (named after the Grandmaster Wignacourt who erected it), has recently been restored and is in good condition. Perhaps the best known of the towers is the one on Tower Road (which is named after it) in Sliema - it is now a restaurant. It is popularly known to the Maltese as "It-Torri", meaning "The Tower".

Interested in a De Redin tower in Selima, is this in Selima itself or does this refer to St Julian's tower?--Shoka 21:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
