Merge and archive

[edit]

I've merged the two documents together and archived the massive talk page. (I've added the talkheader to list the archive.) I can only review the first segment of 20/20, because that's all that is online. I also can't review all of the Syracuse article, since only the first part is free access. I am concerned there may be too many quotations from that one to meet WP:NFC, which forbids extensive quotations of copyrighted material. Even if the quotes are short, if we use many, they become extensive. Please consider cutting out non-essential quotes from that article to be on the safe side. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:09, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The rest of the 20/20 special is not too close in original wording to the way I presented it in the article. With the exception of online clips of part of the first half, I only watched it once. Though I have a pretty good memory (which is as close to a photographic memory as one can get, since having a memory like that is debatable), I did not have exact sentences in front of me from the rest of that special which could have resulted in close paraphrasing of them as well. As for the Syracuse source, I have more than one Syracuse source in this article, but I only have access to what you have access to regarding that. I will consider cutting down on some of the quotes...if you have not already done so in a way that I feel is sufficient. Thank you again, Moonriddengirl. If anything, this experience, though embarrassing, has helped me. Flyer22 (talk) 22:33, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting Dates

[edit]

I'm concerned about the Conflicting Dates that signify Ashley Wallace's age and birthday. It is said that she was 11 years old at the time of her Father's death in early 2000, however it is also stated that she was born in 1987: "...and in 1987 the two welcomed their first daughter, Ashley." If that were true, her age in year 2000 would be placed at 13, not 11. As stated in the ABC 20/20 interview with the mother and Ashley herself, she was 11 when her father died. I believe there is an error in her date of birth rather than the age specified in 2000. This would need to be double-checked as I am going off of the accounts listed in the ABC 20/20 program. If she was 11 in early 2000, then her birth year would be 1989 not 1987. I have updated this on the page to reflect the appropriate age as not to create confusion. If it is vice versa and the age at the time of her Father's death is listed wrong then please cite and correct it. Just looking for consistency in the story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.16.119.68 (talk) 03:57, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are, of course, right, IP. I also saw the 20/20 interview, last year. In this case, the video interview is more accurate than the ABC text source. Thank you for tweaking that. Flyer22 (talk) 18:08, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Another IP also altered the dates. Flyer22 (talk) 17:36, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move at Black Widow.

[edit]

For any editors concerned, there is a proposed moved at the disambiguation page Black Widow. If you have anything to add to the discussion, please do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Black_Widow#Proposed_move Weebro55 (talk) 04:07, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

maiden name?

[edit]

"Castor" is a married name (from the 2nd husband). I do not see what Stacey Castor's MAIDEN surname was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.47 (talk) 21:44, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

choice of wording

[edit]

I find "devised a plan to set up her daughter Ashley for the murders". How about "frame" instead of "set up"? "set up" could suggest that something was done BEFORE the murders. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.47 (talk) 21:47, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand your argument against "set up," but "frame" is more precise. So go for it, IP; see WP:Bold. Flyer22 (talk) 00:20, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good question about burial

[edit]

Forensic Files episode said Stacey Castor was planning to be buried between the two husbands. Now I am seeing that, per arrangements made by Mr. Castor's son, Mr. Castor's remains were moved, so where was now-deceased Stacey Castor buried? Carlm0404 (talk) 22:28, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2023 dubious tag.

[edit]

the article states that she had changed the will and appears to be supported by a media outlet reference. However, this is highly questionable since, as a well known principle of probate law, wills may generally only be executed by the deceedent and must be notarized indicating that the victim is the only person whim could have changed the will by virtue of common sense, such that it casts doubt on the credibility of media source cited. 2600:8804:7108:5D00:3191:4B7A:2E56:7428 (talk) 19:20, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
