Catalog / catalogue[edit]

This article uses the word catalog while the one as Stamp collecting uses catalogue. What's Wikipedia's policy regarding US/UK English? JoshXF (talk) 01:15, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Either is OK as long as used consistently and appropriate to the subject. eg no US spelling in an article about Winston Churchill and no UK spelling in one about Kennedy! Thanks. Maidonian (talk) 02:45, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Selection criteria[edit]

I suppose we should forestall editwarring by deciding some sort of informal criteria for catalogues that are worth mentioning on this page, vs appearing only in List of stamp catalogues. As a first approximation, I would say that any catalogue mentioned on this page ought to have its own article (aka all-blue-links). If no online-only catalogues have their own articles, it would work to simply mention that there are online-only catalogues, and refer readers to the complete list to see which ones there are. Seems like WP:WTAF should apply as a basic principle for inclusion, thereby having no redlinks. 20:53, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Merge the online catalogs section?[edit]

Is there a good reason why the online catalogs section should be apart from the "Current catalogs" section? I suggest they'd be merged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JoshXF (talkcontribs) 18:51, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
