Bolander's status as the eldest homicide detective in the squad

There is an episode in one of the first few seasons (I believe it is the first season) that Bolander says his age is 48. If the information on Detective Munch's biography page is correct, this would actually make Munch OLDER than Bolander, as Munch is said to have been born in 1944 (the same year as Richard Belzer), making him 49 or 50 during the first season of Homicide. Ned Beatty (born in 1937) does look substantially older, however, and Richard Belzer looks fairly young for his age, particularly in the early Homicide seasons.

It's possible Bolander was lying about his age. The general impression was that he was elder to Munch. Granted part of that could simply be that he had more job seniority. (I think it's implied Munch got into police work somewhat late in life compared to Bolander or the others)--T. Anthony 12:16, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
