New Judges Section

[edit]

This section was proposed for inclusion in the ceremony of 2022; however, it was not displayed due to the absence of sufficient information regarding the judges and the lack of necessary references. (Unknown152438 (talk) 03:39, 16 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]

Sorry for the late reply, but maybe ask the WikiProject Awards to see if they can agree on doing this addition. If they think they don't want it, then it is alright to remove it when necessary.
Anyway, enjoy tonight's show. Sculture65 (talk) 09:04, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Changes of this year Templates

[edit]

As we looking forward into the future, all presenters sequence are very messy in line, to be fair and consice all the presenters name will be listed under the award category, which will be the same as the Brits Awards.

British Album of the Year
(presented by Stanley Tucci)
British Artist of the Year
(presented by Lucien Laviscount & Camille Razat)

Top 10 Most Popular Artiste award template will also have a new look. Meanwhile, the infobox will no longer display the Sponsorship section, as we consider the event's sponsorship to be of minimal significance. (Unknown152438 (talk) 08:16, 7 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]

You can try to ask some help on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Awards, and join as participant, so you can get an idea on how to make your Star Awards a better article. Believe me. Sculture65 (talk) 08:12, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is a nice way of presenting information, we can follow this! ~ JASWE (talk) 09:32, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The single column format means 3 full screen of very little content and a lot of white space. A two column separating the male and female categories format seems to be better in making full use of the screen, less scrolling for readers. ~ JASWE (talk) 09:31, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Justanothersgwikieditor Done! As for the winners of the Top 10 will be unusual format this year as we will be following "Winner's listed first basis" for this years' ceremony. (Unknown152438 (talk) 10:46, 21 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
@Justanothersgwikieditor Above will show the sample of how the new template will work during editing. (Unknown152438 (talk) 10:56, 21 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
Just not to be too complicated, as for the Top 10 new template when announced, All-Time Favorite Artistes Winner of tenth Awards will be the very first on the lists, followed by Number of Awards, 9 to 1. (Unknown152438 (talk) 13:15, 21 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]

I took your past tables and change to using something like Survivor voting style (see the jury vote table below of the section). It gives a clear indicator of who is still alive in each round and then if they win the brackets indicate how many they have won, including current win. Tenth win is bolded to indicated they reached the max with the information written above (Winners are highlighted in boldface with the number of awards won (including current win). Winner who won a total of 10 awards will be awarded the "All-time Favourite Artiste" on the following year's ceremony.).

Accessibility even for abled person means easy colours on the eyes for reading. I used the default wikitable colour scheme (some of the Star awards colours are hard to read words and linked text does not appear clearly for some cases)

Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes
Nominee Top 18 Top 16 Top 10
Carrie Wong (5)
Ya Hui (10)
Kimberly Chia
Jesseca Liu (7)
Jayley Woo
Aileen Tan
Pan Lingling (6)
Hong Huifang (1)

Any opinions? --~ JASWE (talk) 04:23, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In my view, adding the tick will only clutter the template further. The artists are primarily concerned with the total number of awards they accumulate towards winning the All-Time Favorite Artiste Award. As such, they are likely indifferent to the specifics of who makes it onto the lists. We aim to avoid any clutter in the Top 10 table, which I plan to achieve by using color indications and listing winners first.
(Unknown152438 (talk) 10:06, 22 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
Meanwhile, I've decided to eliminate text indicators and will instead use color coding in the table.
(Unknown152438 (talk) 10:11, 22 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
I've suggested placing a list of the 10 Most Popular Artistes at the beginning of the article, which will accommodate those with color vision difficulties. (Unknown152438 (talk) 10:19, 22 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
However, I don't believe this approach is optimal either, as it would result in repetitive information. To maintain consistency with previous years, I'll continue to use color indications for the Top 10 table.
(Unknown152438 (talk) 10:41, 22 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
I've noticed the changes you made for the Star Awards 2023. However, I would recommend keeping in line with the consistency established in 2022 and the years preceding it. (Unknown152438 (talk) 11:01, 22 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]

Do we need to list everyone in the table after the awards have been given? Wouldn't just the top 20 be sufficient? This reeks of a violation of WP:INDISCRIMINATE. If so, we can just drop the rest of the names, remove the colours and thus resolves the accessibility issue at the same time. – robertsky (talk) 01:12, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Robertsky Good idea! I like it! (Unknown152438 (talk)) Unknown152438 (talk) 11:46, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky Is it still possible to list 20 of male and female since some of them might be qualified for top 20? (Unknown152438 (talk) 11:48, 3 April 2024 (UTC))[reply]
Just the final list of top 10 winners for each group should be sufficient. – robertsky (talk) 13:25, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just keep it the same format as it was, since they agreed on the format, just stick to the format will do it. Sculture65 (talk) 09:05, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Concluding the changed and final version of the Top 10 and Rising Star template

[edit]
  • Only Winner will be showned after the ceremony, nominees will be removed.
  • The Winner of All-Time Favorite Artiste will be highlighted in gold.
  • Award presenter will be listed under the award title which will be the same as other category.

Proposed changes of format

[edit]

@Unknown152438, are the above proposed changes of format applicable to all previous Star Awards also or just going from this year onwards? Thanks! ~ JASWE (talk) 09:26, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Justanothersgwikieditor It will be applicable this year onwards, Thanks. (Unknown152438 (talk) 09:28, 21 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
Perhaps you should be more focusing on helping Star Awards 2024 template for the upcoming show. (Unknown152438 (talk) 07:39, 27 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]
