Dates and background

[edit]

Can anyone add when the regions were officially named by the Skopje (or Belgrage) authorities? Is there a documented record on when and how the regions of the country were established? Presumably the first division came with the creation of the 'Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia'. But were there any changes after independence?

Why are they called statistical regions?
Why arbitrary? The Pelagonia and Vardar regions overlap regions with those names (ancient Pelagonia and modern Vardar), so it is not that arbitrary.
Are those names temporary?

Lozovo & Sveti Nikole : Eastern of Vardar?

[edit]

To which of the Statistical Regions of Macedonia do Lozovo Municipality and Sveti Nikole Municipality belong? To the Eastern Statistical Region or the Vardar Statistical Region? (or when were they tranferred from the one to the other?)--Bancki (talk) 07:59, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They belong to the Vardar Statistical Region. I see it's incorrect on the municipalities' pages. Thanks for pointing it out. --Local hero talk 02:22, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
