Comments[edit]

this is a good start,

I remember a couple of years ago someone stole the golden rod?

Also maybe the title could be changed to Statue of Henry V, Monmouth, or even Statue of King Henry V, Monmouth?

Proposed merge[edit]

I propose that this article be merged into Shire Hall, Monmouth. It seems to me that the content is never likely to be more than a stub, and I doubt whether the statue itself is sufficiently notable to justify a standalone article. Most of the current text refers either to the king, or to the sculptor Charles Peart (who now has his own article). The Shire Hall article itself is worthy of some expansion. well, there may well be scholarly references on the statue. at a minimum a rename to Henry V (Peart) would be in order. in addition, to the extent that the photo is on the statue, and not the building, the photo needs to be tagged with a "PD-old". within Wikipedia:WikiProject Public art Slowking4 †@1₭ 21:24, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The article - if kept - certainly needs renaming, though using the name of the (obscure) sculptor seems to violate WP:COMMONNAME. What does "PD-old" signify, please? Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:45, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
