Merge
[edit]I figure this oughta be merged with Capture the flag. Any takers? Interlaker (talk) 20:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]Notwithstanding the previous merge proposal, I propose that Steal the Flingsock be merged with Steal the Bacon as they appear to refer to the same thing, or minor variants thereof which would be better consolidated into a single article. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 10:46, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
happy to have it merged
[edit]Happy to have "...flingsock" and "...handkerchief" merged into "steal the bacon". Steal the Bacon ought to be the canonical title, as "Steal the flingsock/handkerchief" doesn't enjoy the depth of citations that "steal the bacon" does. -- Vonfraginoff (talk) 19:09, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Resuscitated merge proposal steal the bacon → capture the flag
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was "no merge." Consensus is that the games are different enough to justify separate articles.
Renewing the proposal by User:Interlaker above. Steal the bacon shares the same principles as capture the flag and it could easily be merged into the "Variants" section like stealing sticks. What say ye? — AjaxSmack 19:50, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Steal the bacon is different in that it involves calling individuals in pairs, whereas capture the flag is more of a team-based as multiple players are active at once. 96.241.166.13 (talk) 00:37, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per 96.241.166.13 Washing Machine (talk) 07:11, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose - they are not the same. --evrik (talk) 19:46, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
