The clean up of this article[edit]

I have spent some time on improving this article.

To the editor who uses the name of this man's son: Be aware of Wiki conventions regarding the names of operas (e.g. Don Carlos in the article's name and the wiki link goes to it. But maybe he only sang in the Italian version known as "Don Carlo"? No matter, the link will go to the article.)

Also, I have toned down some of the hyperbole regarding the reputation of some people named e.g. Mortier. There was too much Wikipedia:POV (Wiki point of view - please read in order to avoid)

This article no needs much more in the way of citations in order to be justified or we'll risk it being severely edited or removed.

PS: Note the fact that this article is under the Wiki Opera Project which has created agreed-upon standards for all opera-related articles. Viva-Verdi (talk) 23:03, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A considerable improvement! But it still needs extensive copy-editing and I've tagged it as such. I can't really get around to it until after the holidays. There are many misspellings, grammar errors, etc. and it as Viva-Verdi points out, it does not have a neutral point of view - even after the editing, it still has several peacock terms. The article has only the most rudimentary references under the Press section. The sources for the quotes require minimally the date of publication and the author of the review. They should preferably have the page number as well if they are from a print edition. Also the Recordings section requires full details of the recordings. This is especially important since the referencing is so poor. Voceditenore (talk) 07:15, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
