Notability

[edit]

Is this speech sufficiently notable to justify a Wikipedia article dedicated to it?203.184.41.226 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:47, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. This was affirmed by the community in 2006 and re-affirmed in 2009. Hawkeye7 (talk) 22:12, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I vote against deletion. This speech is the most notable ever at a white house correspondence dinner. The fact were writing about it 8 years speaks to this.
In that speech Colbert spoke truth to power, not just to President Bush but much to the media that was covering him. What does it say when the media completely snubs the headliner of the correspondence dinner in the days after? Especially when at the same time his speech is trending hotter on the internet then anything out there. That media responded was like a politburo he was calling them out for being. I'm concerned it's these same people that want to rewrite history by deleting this article. Gfutia (talk) 19:45, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
