Notability?
[edit]I'm trying to check if Steve Thomas passes WP:ACADEMICS, and I'm having difficulty finding evidence that he does. There's barely a trace of him left on the Greenwich website apart from his publications (so I assume he must have retired). Before an AfD proposal which sets the clock ticking, can anyone provide me with, for example, a page at a university that lists his achievements? Things like, elected membership of prestigious scholarly societies, being head editor of a high level journal etc.
Also, regarding his publications - why is that list there? Some of those have very few citations according to Google Scholar. OsFish (talk) 04:17, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- David Elliott (professor) and Gordon Walker (professor) probably have a similar situation. Those three are heavily interlinked and see-alsoed in the same articles, often with the same wording in several articles. --Hob Gadling (talk) 08:53, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Yes - I arrived on all those pages via Mycle Schneider. I suspect there may have been a certain amount of well-meaning but insufficiently encyclopedic WP:ADVOCACY going on. I think we need to confirm that each of them actually passes WP:ACADEMICS. OsFish (talk) 04:28, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
