Merger

[edit]

These sections should be merged and probably be renamed nuclear hormone receptors

I have created nuclear receptor and removed the {{mergefrom|intracellular receptor}}. Cacycle 01:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Re: merging "nuclear receptor" and "steroid hormone receptor" into "nuclear hormone receptors"
I agree. I started adding to the nuclear receptor section before I noticed steroid receptor and now realize the large degree of overlap. Boghog2 04:52, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
On further reflection, I think we should keep this article separate from nuclear receptor. However the scope of this article should be restricted to nuclear receptors whose endogenous ligands are steroid hormones (type I receptors) and exclude orphan receptors and nuclear receptors that bind other types of ligands (type II receptors). In addition, it would be appropriate to include in this article non-nuclear receptors that bind steroid hormones such as GPR30. Boghog (talk) 05:22, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
