Fly by Wire[edit]

This 2009 book, written by William Langewiesche, the son of Wolfgang Langewiesche, analyzes and criticizes one of the best commercial aviation pilots in U.S. history, Chesley B. Sullenberger III, with considerable reference to the topics covered in Stick and Rudder. Why?

Wolfgang Langewiesche was a contemporary of Antoine de Saint Exupery but lived long enough to witness the transmogrification of aircraft cockpits into computer workstations, ensconsed inside Fisher-Price facsimiles of genuine aircraft. Sniff-sniff, there is a missing "father/son" story in this matter somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.82.60.165 (talk) 17:15, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
