List of Stockjobbers in 1986[edit]

I'm not sure where to look it up but, from memory, shouldn't "the leading jobbing firms were" read "the only jobbing firms were"? Smith Brothers had become Smith New Court by then, too. JohnHarris (talk) 18:33, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Derogatory Term?[edit]

I have found a few sources from the 19th century using the term "stock jobber" somewhat derogatory - like a lazy gambler. I will try to get some things together, but can any others confirm the term as derogatory? --Toast and Friends (talk) 12:02, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
