October 2008

[edit]

This is a valid group and more information can be posted on it. They have been established for some time and there are numerous articles and references that can be linked here. I am trying to gather them at this point but was hoping to get help from the community. Mljenkins (talk) 15:38, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the tag to a PROD to allow you to add more info, but regarless of how positive the charity's mission is, it needs to be rewritten in a more neutral, less advertising tone. --Terrillja (talk) 15:43, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please review the page again and let me know how it is looking now. I apologize for the initial content as I cut and pasted, as I had intended to allow others to assist me with rewording it. I guess they could have edited my user page until the content looked better. The article definitely needs more references added to it. Mljenkins (talk) 16:06, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Evaluation of article

[edit]

This article reads like it was written by the person who runs this organization; it's almost like this article would be something they would have written for their own website. Though I'm quite sure the organization does good work, and the mission is laudable, I am not seeing notability in the article as it is written today. I did not, however, go looking for other sources at this time. Current sources are mostly blog-level and one press release we can't even read. (I did a little cleanup so that the sources were more clear to anyone else evaluating this article.)

Someone recently tried to WP:PROD the article; another editor removed it, with a challenge to AfD it instead. This is the second time someone tried to PROD the article (the first was in 2008), which makes me the third person who thinks this might not survive AfD. In order to survive AfD, this article would have to show some more evidence of notability (see WP:NCORP), and ease off the advertising angle while adding more of a third-party tone.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 05:54, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
