Thwaites, p. 121) indicates that in 1768 Samuel Pringle, John Jackson, John Hacker, Alex and Thomas Sleeth, William Hacker, Thomas and Jesse Hughes, the Radclifs [sic], and John Brown discovered and named Stone Coal Creek."
