The result was merge into Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. -- TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 17:23, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There has been an attempted merger/redirect of Stonehouse Brick and Tile Co Ltd a couple of times, which has each time been reverted by the creator of that page, newcomer Darrellw100. It appears to me that there are a couple of reliable sources for that historic company, but only a couple, which means that any article written about it is going to have to be carefully written to avoid copyvio problems. Until that work is done, preferably on a userfied or incubated drafting page, then I think that article ought to be merged with this one. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 14:01, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Support the merge, the company does not appear to meet WP:CORP or WP:GNG. Codf1977 (talk) 14:13, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok shall i do this merge or will it be done for me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.72.213.2 (talk) 14:38, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you Darrellw100? If so, I'll be happy to do it. — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 15:04, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Geolinks and Post Office

[edit]

I've added geolinks to the locations of the Stonehouse Brick and Tile Co Ltd and the police station made from its bricks. The police station is plainly old enough to be the right one (you can see it in Google Street View), but the current post office (51°44′45″N 2°16′56″W / 51.745929°N 2.282190°W / 51.745929; -2.282190) looks too new and the bricks look too dark (SB and T bricks tended to be lighter–colored according to some sources). Does anyone know the history of the current PO? — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 18:01, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And now I'm not sure about the police station. In Google Street View you can see a plaque on the right gable that says "AD [something]" and it looks to me like 1890. If that's right then it was built a year before SB and T was founded, but I suppose that the terra cotta decorations on the front could have been from there. — TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 18:12, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Number of residents?

[edit]

I would just know if there is a reason for not mentioning the current estimated number of residents in Stonehouse? From the article itself it is very difficult to even make an educated guess. //JES — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.171.249.134 (talk) 12:16, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Almost certainly a lack of a reliable source, see the policy on verifiability. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:58, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have tidied up sections. I think the post office was built in the 1930's, must try the history group to find thi out.

Population figures cannot be found at sdc website, and hence are unverified. As such they are not included. I think the brickworks section could go into a new section called industries? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ngewells (talkcontribs) 06:48, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
