The article's intro is completely misleading.
[edit]Although, the arcade version shares its name with the home versions, they're not really identical games. Jonny2x4 05:16, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Talk with developer
[edit]This is some talk on forum with one of the developers;

Maybe someone can update this wikipedia-entry using the information provided on that forum?
Wrong
[edit]This article reads part-article, part-game guide. This should be fixed, and many sections should be outright deleted. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 14:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Requested move

The game is named Street Fighter: The Movie, the film is titled Street Fighter. The film's page is Street Fighter (film), so there shouldn't be a problem JohnnyMrNinja
- Oppose "Street Fighter: The Movie" should be a redirect to the first Street Fighter movie. TJ Spyke 02:31, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Support; Although it's possible that someone might search for "Street Fighter: The Movie" expecting to find the film, so I have added a disambig link to this article. As the film is just called "Street Fighter" there's no real reason to disambiguate this article's title. While I'm here, I disagree with the nom's changing of Street Fighter from redirecting to Street Fighter (series) to a redirect to Street fighter (a disambiguation page). I won't revert it, but Street Fighter (series) is the likely primary topic for the term "Street Fighter", so it was correct before. Masaruemoto 04:05, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Comment isn't there a animated movie called Street Fighter: The Movie based on the videogame series? 70.55.86.129 04:26, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Do you mean Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie? Anyway, I think the parenthetical is helpful here. Dekimasuよ! 05:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

This article has been renamed from Street Fighter: The Movie (video game) to Street Fighter: The Movie as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 07:29, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Two sections
[edit]I think there should be two sections to this article. One covering the arcade game and the other home version. Jonny2x4 (talk) 18:39, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Article split
[edit]I still considering splitting the article into two, seeing how Street Fighter: The Movie game released on home consoles is nothing like the arcade version. Hell, even All About Capcom Head-to-Head Fighting Games consider them to be separate games, listing Real Battle on Film (the PS/Saturn version in Japan) in the "Consumer Originals" section of the book. Jonny2x4 (talk) 21:07, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have no argument with a split, but the way it was done is pretty bad, and i'm working on redoing it so the attributions of earlier edits aren't so hard to find. See my note at User talk:Jonny2x4#The Disambig template -- and your Cut and Paste split.
