Disclosure of Interest

[edit]

I have edited this page a half dozen or so times over the past fourteen years. Some of these edits were made while I was an employee of the Coalition on Homelessness, tho I did not make them at anyone else's request or as part of my employment. I was not paid to make these edits. I have reviewed these edits, & summarise them as follows:

  • I on several occasions updated the name of the editor, as that changed.
  • I updated the frequency of print from monthly to twice monthly, as that changed.
  • I removed the identification of the paper as having a leftist political affiliation.
  • I updated the link to the newspaper's blog at one point when that changed, & I added a link to the Coalition on Homelessness' Website.

I have made no other changes to this page. I believe that all of these changes are effectively neutral. Some would dispute the third point but the claim was not sourced. Most of these changes were made before there was a clear guideline to state one's conflict of interest. However, my most recent change on 5 January 2017 was made after the current policy was passed, and I ought to have declared a COI. I was not yet aware of the guideline. At the time, I was not an employee of the Coalition on Homelessness, but I was certainly a connected contributor. I have added a Connected contributor banner to this page in order to try to comply with WP:DISCLOSE. For even fuller disclosure: I became aware of this guideline because my comments on another Talk page drew criticism. I am now attempting to make sure that I'm doing right by WP:COI in ancient edits. I accidentally omitted a major edit: At one point, Highmuckymuck (user no longer exists) added information on Street Sheet Canada. I removed that information & set it apart on its own page as it is (or was) an unrelated publication. That page is now under consideration for deletion due to lack of notability. That is probably far more potentially controversial than any of the above. I do not believe I have made any other edits to this page. Pathawi (talk) 12:10, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
