This could do with some diagrams but I don't know how to insert these yet. If anyone else gets there first, please go ahead.RDT2 11:52, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong informations ?

[edit]

The Haigh-Westergaard space is not the principal stress spaces. Thoses are two differents stress spaces. From what i know of this subject, in Continuum Mechanics, this coordinate system is composed of three differents axis:
xi (Hydrostatic pressure) which is computed : xi = I_1 / 3 = (sig_11 + sig_22 + sig_33) /3
rho (Deviatoric stress) which is computed: rho = sqrt(2*J2)
theta (Lode angle) which is computed: cos(theta) = sqrt(3)/2 * J_3/J_2^(3/2)
If someone disagree with this information, let me know. Otherwise, i will modify the article in the next days to introduce those informations. --PlGirard1 (talk) 13:32, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
