Dear Noclador, both the Land Component Commander and the SO Component Commander do not report to Army General Staff. They report to Commander Joint Forces New Zealand and are both physically located within his Headquarters Joint Forces New Zealand. Chief of Army is equal in status to COMJFNZ but does not control either LCC or SOCC. CDF has five major-generals, Chiefs of Air Force, Navy, Army, COMJFNZ and VCDF all reporting to him.
