Merge
[edit]As no one has commented on the reason for a need of merging this article into South Park, and as this article is big enough to be a lone article, I am removing the merge tag.Bballoakie 20:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Abortion
[edit]The abortion section states that the "Pro-Choice vs. Cartman" thing seems to promote pro-choice, but I'm pretty sure there was also a "Gun Control vs. Cartman" there. And aren't Trey and Matt against gun restrictions? In other words, I think that debate list was more humorous than trying to send a message. I guess this would mean the show hints towards a pro-life message, although I'm just saying that from what's shown in the article. (I've always seen it as more neutral.) --Jopasopa (talk) 03:37, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Stem Cells/Cartmen
[edit]"It is revealed at the end of the episode he really wanted to use stem cells to clone his favorite pizza restaurant. Since Cartman is generally portrayed as a malevolent person, this can be seen as promoting pro-life." I think this sentence should be omitted. Nothing in the episode suggested that Cartman was either Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. In fact, in this and many other episodes, Cartman does not do things for the sake of others, but only for himself. That part where it was shown that Cartman had made a pizza restaurant was implemented purely for entertainment's sake and I honestly doubt there was any political or scientific undertone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.7.217 (talk) 08:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree. The episode trying to make a point that a good deal of pro-stem cell and pro-choicers take those positions out of personal selfishness than a genuine concern for others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.151.55.78 (talk) 00:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Racism and stereotypes
[edit]A very common theme is about race, ethnicity and different social groups on the South Park series, from making fun of Jews (perhaps the most frequent on the show created by Jewish creators) to black people, Latinos, Muslims, Asians and Native Americans. There were also episodes of featuring characters display stereotypes relating to their group of origin: i.e. Italian Americans, Mormons, Canadians and Southerners. I thought it would be mentioned on the article, due to the controversial humor involved in stereotypes. + 71.102.12.55 (talk) 02:49, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
