Is it actually true about Summer's pregnancy? --Daniel C. Boyer 19:24, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This entry needs to be revised. Badly.

I have never watched this programme but it strikes me that the sentence "until Marissa Cooper's death in Season 3" should not be above the spoiler warning heading.

The last promo picture (from S4) should be added to the profile. EverythingFan —Preceding undated comment added 10:58, 26 April 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Wedding to Seth

[edit]

Is there a good indication as to when this happens? I don't know if it's "years later" or not. --Daniel C. Boyer 14:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Roberts v. Cohen

[edit]

even though there was speculation that summer and seth were to marry in the future, there is NO indication that she will have, had, or is going to take the Cohen name. the character was always referred to as summer roberts. she was never referred to as summer cohen, so i say these edits should stop. the_undertow talk 07:52, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Roberts v. Cohen

[edit]

But the TV Guide description of the episode referred to the characters as "the Cohens, Coopers, Ryan, and Taylor." Since we have no evidence that she did NOT change her name, and (though miniscule it may be) SOME evidence that she DID, I think it's okay to change it. DarthTayter 13 March 11:36 2007

in every script of the OC, her character is referred to as summer roberts. being privy to a flashforward of her wedding is not a reason to change the name of the character. when a character in a television show actually gets married, it is still appropriate to use the maiden name, as that is the character that was written for the show. the_undertow talk 21:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since in the future montage of the show, it is shown that she is marrying Seth, chances are that she changes her surname into Cohen. Most women choose to use their husband's surname after marriage so I believe if we are tring to be up-to-date, regardless of whether other The O.C. sites use Summer's maiden name, we should use Cohen as Summer's surname.
Wikipedia goes by what's verifiable, her name change is not verifiable. (I've reverted all your Roberts -> Cohen changes) Matthew 07:34, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be appropriate to have a redirect from Summer Cohen if all of this is explained somewhere? --Daniel C. Boyer 19:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
sure. why dont you go ahead and create the redirect. it seems like a compromise. the_undertow talk 22:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Summer is much more widely known as Roberts, thus a redirect to here is more appropriate. Matthew
i believe that is what daniel was suggesting. he mentioned the 'redirect from summer cohen,' so i think that implies it should go here. the_undertow talk 22:23, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've redirected to this page. --Daniel C. Boyer 19:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe use Roberts-Cohen then? It still has her maiden name to prevent confussion and it has Seth's surname. It seems like the best solution to the debate.

This could also make sense since on the fox site for The O.C. for the first two seasons, in Kirsten's profile, she was refered to as Kirsten-Nichol Cohen

Summer's last name

[edit]

We all know she was Summer Roberts, but then she married Seth. We're erasing her as Summer Cohen, but can we use Summer Roberts-Cohen?People can still know who she is that way. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DeanSamWinchesterfan (talkcontribs) 22:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

We don't know if she took his name at all. Saying that she did would be speculation. Cherries Jubilee 23:41, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Summer's Name Redux

[edit]

I was surprised to see that the lead section gives the character's name as "Summer Roberts Cohen," when that name was never used by the character. The occurrence of the character's marriage within the narrative of the show (albeit in the last ten minutes) doesn't tell us what name she uses thereafter. Any name other than "Summer Roberts" is speculative and therefore inappropriate. I am opening the topic here, rather than editing immediately, because I can see that the topic was previously discussed; even though it was last discussed over a decade ago, I thought it best to acknowledge the existence of disagreement before making a change. Does anyone feel they have a compelling argument (and a source) for why "Summer Roberts Cohen" should be considered an alternative name for this character? If not, I will make the change. --DavidK93 (talk) 13:57, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing no further comment, I made the change. --DavidK93 (talk) 20:02, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
