Issues with the article[edit]

I've reverted a number of changes, but key among them are these two:

  • The motto is given in English. No translation is appropriate for an English motto. If it were in Latin, that would be another matter.
  • YouTube is listed as a source, but YouTube videos are not reliable sources.

Please discuss here before re-adding. —C.Fred (talk) 23:32, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The motto translation doesn't mean direct (from language to language). The motto translation simply means what a "journey to success" means in the big picture to sum up the main idea. I didn't make the motto, I would not know why there would be a translation. However, I think the motto translation is a little to long to be an actual motto that people can use. That why they use the motto instead of actually saying the motto translation. It'll be much easier to say Summit middle school is a journey to success than Summit middle school believe that our main purpose is to help students become responsible citizens, lifelong learners, and healthy, caring, ethical, and intellectually reflective individuals.

Also, I agree that youtube videos are not reliable sources, sorry for the inconvenience. They will just be external links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by I4gotmypass (talkcontribs) 02:41, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the motto, the two questions are, who says that's what the motto means, and why is that in the infobox when it could be better handled in the text of the article? —C.Fred (talk) 03:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks better and neater in the info box. More proffestional. And the motto translation can be found in the Official summit newsletter (PDF file) here It is on the first page http://sites.sd43.bc.ca/middle/summit/homepage/Newsletters/1/Peak%20Experiences%20-October%2017,%202007.pdf —Preceding unsigned comment added by I4gotmypass (talkcontribs) 03:30, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Summitsunslogoschool1111.jpg[edit]

Image:Summitsunslogoschool1111.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I've added a rationale. —C.Fred (talk) 20:25, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, can you take a look at WP:RS and WP:VER and see what you can do to help provide verifiability as explained in there? Arthurrh 03:26, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
