Interlanguage linking[edit]

I created a russian SMB article, how do I make it appear on the left in the "other languages" column?Danyukhin (talk) 18:12, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

paste ru:page name underneath the categories, replacing "page name" with the name of your article you created, also im assuming that ru is the russian wiki code, as en is the english one. Salavat (talk) 04:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bandage/Achievement Section[edit]

Is it really necessary? I thought an encyclopedia page was supposed to give information about a specific subject, not give an in-depth guide on how to get 100% on it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.200.146.146 (talk) 09:56, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Bandage section at least, along with most of the devmode section is much too in-depth. That should be in a walkthrough, not on the wiki page, especially considering the bandage location act as spoilers to people who want to find them for themselves. Also the keybinings for the editor alongside the palette files and all that belongs in a manual. Zaph34r (talk) 14:21, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed both segments, because they're really unneccessary for a wiki. Wonchop (talk) 14:47, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image cropping[edit]

Does anyone agree that we ought to crop out the "Arcade" at the top? I think it would look better if it was neutral to platform. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 06:56, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah - I bet it could be replaced with a higher res version [1] as well that can be resized to 256px wide. --Teancum (talk) 06:47, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Crufty characters section[edit]

The abilities and whatnot of the characters section is really crufty. Per WP:GAMECRUFT, point 3. There's no need to point out all of the abilities of characters. Also, this section could probably be presented in a clearer way. A big long list seems excessive - not in a crufty way this time, its more a layout thing. --Teancum (talk) 21:28, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was less crufty before this note, but whatever. It should be noted the Direct2Drive version has Gooball without a code.--SexyKick 09:16, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

question[edit]

isn't there a flash version of this game on Kongregate? 69.140.162.126 (talk) 23:02, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is Meat Boy, the original. Super Meat Boy is the successor to the original Flash game. Reach Out to the Truth 03:02, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
All that I noticed is that there is a reference to a possible Linux version in the future, but nothing in the body. This line should be copied to the article's body and the reference moved from the lead to that line. A formality, though. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 00:15, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  1. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
In the end, my only real qualm is the list of characters. But since the removal of such lists is objected to often, I'm not going to use it against this article. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 00:15, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

# of units sold[edit]

The article states that SMB has over 1 million sales. Is this including the 435k as part of the humble indie bundle 4? Perhaps clarity needed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.220.60.201 (talk) 13:38, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Probably but not for sure; Team Meat just said it was over a million, but given that it was at 600,000+ in April, and the Ultra Edition came out then and the Mac version in November, if you include the Humble Bundle sales I would expect it to be closer to 1.2 million now. Without Team Meat breaking it down we'll never know. --PresN 18:33, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Character List[edit]

I feel that the character list should stay as they are key characters (just like Super Meat Boy) in the game. Each uniqe character also comes from other games and it's very informative of each characters orgin. Often, I find my self returning to the SMB wiki page just to learn more of where the characters come from or what chacter differences there are between the PC and Xbox version. Also, other games (such as Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart) have similar character lists, so what's different about this game? Ultimately, It's just a great source of gameplay, platform differences, and chacter orgins information. Please return the character table. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.81.96.129 (talk) 16:51, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Generally we don't consider what other articles do (eg WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS), we consider each article case by case. In this case, it was determined that the character list, while interesting to see what they are, aren't much value to those that have never played the game but are reading about it. Wikipedia is not the only site on the internet for this type of thing, and there are wikias and other similar sites better suited to this stuff. --MASEM (t) 16:27, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indie Game: The Movie[edit]

Quick question: Both this game and Fez were featured in Indie Game: The Movie, which followed significant development milestones for both games. Would someone with a bit more experience in such things be up for adding a mention of the movie in both articles?

For anyone not familiar with it: This is far beyond a pop-culture reference. The movie is about indie-game developers and focuses specifically on Super Meat Boy and Fez, while also prominently featuring Braid mostly for comparison. It consists of interviews with the developers of each game, their friends and family, and other people involved throughout the process. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 00:34, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
