Orphaned references in Superficial (album)

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Superficial (album)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "BPI":

  • From List of music recording certifications: "The BPI". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved 2008-06-02.
  • From 21 (Adele album): "Certified Awards Search". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved 17 December 2011.
  • From British Phonographic Industry: Gallup (4 February 1989). "The Top of the Pops Chart" (PDF). Record Mirror: 4. Retrieved 16 July 2010.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 17:20, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Editing War"

[edit]

Obviously, there's quite the "editing war" going on here. Improving Wiki pages is something I do when I'm sitting around the house with nothing better to do. That being said, I noticed that both the Heidi Montag page and the Superficial page looked pretty bad (no offense to whoever made it) compared to other articles. There's A LOT of info on both Montag and the album that wasn't featured in the article, so I input that information and modeled the page after other more popular albums. All of the information is sourced (and I'm not the one who stated that the album won a Grammy, and I also didn't post the charts and certifications). That being said, I think the article should stay the way I edited it. It's a good looking article, I believe, and all of the information is sourced, and most of the info I put in has more than one source. That being said, I'll quit reverting the edits until we come to a final decision.

You can't use blogs and fansites to add information to the article, they are unreliable. That pretty much breaks the WP:V rule. Also, can you please sign your comments with the four tildes so people will know who it is that's commenting? Till 02:00, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did not realize that I was using fansites, I only looked at the information included in the sourced articles! Sorry. /: Sethjohnson95 Talk 22:08, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You additionally added the album charting at number one everywhere and selling billions of copies worldwide. Statυs (talk) 02:44, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add that information to the page. I actually didn't even add a "Charts and Certifications" section, as it only charted on one chart (the Heatseekers chart) therefore I only covered that in the "reception" section. I also didn't say the album won a Grammy. When I reverted the edits back, I didn't notice those, but quickly removed them from the article.
Forgot to add my sig. Sethjohnson95 Talk 23:26, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Superficial (album). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
