The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Superman (gene)/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This gene was important enough to be taught in my introductory undergraduate biology class. I believe it is of interest beyond the specialized domain of plant genetics because most people are familiar with flowers and recognize flower anatomy, and might therefore be interested in the genetic forces that control the development of those features.
