Effect/ Consequences

[edit]

Since effect and consequence are really the same thing, these two sections could be merged, but only if improved. I've run out of steam to tackle that for now. They don't need changing, but it might be more elegant.Katiehawks (talk) 16:31, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

'Act for the Dissolution of the Lesser Monasteries', A.D. 1536

[edit]

A note that in the literature (i.e. books pre-dating computers) this date is known as 1536, e.g., 'Documents Illustrative of English Church History', by Henry Dee and William John Hardy (published in 1910 by Macmillan and Company, St. Martin's Street, London), page 257, per <https://archive.org/details/documentsillustr00hard/page/256/mode/2up?view=theater>. haeomw (talk) 10:25, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The legal date of this act in its name, as listed in the Statute Law Revision Act 1948 (which also pre-dated computers) is 1535, even though it was passed through Parliament in 1536. Mauls (talk) 00:33, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
