Case needs elucidation, citation(s)

[edit]

This paragraph:

In July of 2008, she dismissed a copyright infringement and racketeering lawsuit against the Council on American and Islamic Relations, also known by its acronym C.A.I.R., filed by radio host Michael Savage.

needs further explanation.

I believe this has something to do with the incident (before an appearance by GOP President nominee Sen. John McCain) in which, publicly, Savage repeatedly said Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama's middle name of Hussein. What this had to do with C.A.I.R. or a lawsuit against them isn't explained.

Without further explanation, I think it should be removed because, imo, all it does is raise questions which it doesn't answer.

I added wiki-links as well as corected a spelling error ("copywrite infrignment").

The following sentence in the Kitterman v. Thomas section is an opinion, lacks citation, and should be removed: "By doing so, and as evidenced in the text of the judge's ruling, Judge Illston dishonored her oath of office and disgraced her sworn promise to perform her duties under the United States Constitution." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:1105:85C4:44CB:2C41:C05F:9754 (talk) 22:18, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bot-created subpage

[edit]

A temporary subpage at User:Polbot/fjc/Susan Yvonne Illston was automatically created by a perl script, based on this article at the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges. The subpage should either be merged into this article, or moved and disambiguated. Polbot (talk) 21:15, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible confusion on US v Arnold

[edit]

The article refers to a notable case decided by Judge Illston as United States v. Arnold. There is another well-known case named United States v. Arnold that was also decided in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Is there a need or way to make more of a differentiation than already exists in the article?
