Spelling of Middle Name[edit]

I believe Susanna Salter's middle name is spelled "Medora," not "Madora."

I have reverted the change in spelling of her middle name back to "Madora", because both sources cited in the article state that her middle name is spelled that way. --TommyBoy 04:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First White Baby[edit]

I'm not American, but from a similar settler colony, and I can confirm it's a well-known concept. Often the child and its mother would become very minor celebrities in later years. It's also a very racist concept, particularly when you consider that they were almost always pre-dated by a lot of half-white babies who never got in the newspapers, but it's well known and does show a distinct stage in settlement. Two examples, one showing it was paid attention to as a current event as late as the 1930s [1], and another showing these 'first white babies' were considered significant in later life 2.2407:7000:899A:CD00:31EB:F477:EAEA:F3E8 (talk) 18:29, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
