Requested move 16 March 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved to Suspended (video game), which appears to have reached consensus in this discussion. The Suspended redirect will be retargeted as an ambiguous term. SuspendedSuspended: A Cryogenic NightmareSuspended is a generic word that should redirect to Suspension, as it might be typed by people looking for things like Suspended animation. The game has a subtitle that can easily be used instead. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 08:58, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Works like movies, songs, books or computer games often have generic titles. People search for these works by these generic titles. The "subtitle" was printed on the game package, but it wasn't used by the company besides that (e.g. not in the Lost Treasures ads, packaging or manual), much less by the media. I personally would determine a need for a move by using Google hits or some other objective measuring tool, and if a move is necessary, "Suspended (video game)" would be the obvious target lemma. Just my 2ct. Kind regards, Grueslayer 10:18, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Suspended (film) seems to get more refs in Gbooks. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:23, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose using the unnecessarily long subtitle, but I agree with Grueslayer that Suspended (video game) (already a redirect to the article) is better. Sources discussing this game don't use the subtitle. Ntsimp (talk) 15:32, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Suspended (video game) would also be fine. We are talking about a game from 1983 after all. Suspended should obviously be a redirect to suspension, or at the most a dab page. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:01, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Note to closing admin: I am also fine with this. I figured the subtitle would be the proper way to name it but clearly it is not.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:04, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've a preference for natural disambiguation, but I don't have strong feelings here given the less than concise natural title. Otherwise agree with moving this page and then redirecting Suspended to suspension. --Izno (talk) 16:09, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - as proposed, preferred, or Suspended (video game). --Netoholic @ 02:34, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support the Suspended (video game) new title, oppose the long title with subtitle. — xaosflux Talk 19:33, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
