Ownership

[edit]

Anyone know if the Central Bank of Sweden is privately owned like most other national banks and federal reserve?

The Riksbank is independent and answers not to the government but to the parliament. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.251.129.107 (talk) 19:48, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The riksbank is not a "bank" as a company - but actually a goverment agency. Means there are no other owner than the swedish goverment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.250.32.45 (talk) 11:24, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know that Sweden suffers from interest on the stateloan. But why would they if they have a fiat system that would allow them to print additional money without any other reprecussion that the market value of the currency would drop for a while when used and then in long terms that state could have cut the supply of money righter than normal and get the value of the currency back to it's supposed state. The role of the central bank

[edit]

The Riksbank is a central bank that is divided from the Swedish Treasury and the Swedish Financial Services Authority (FSA), which are located in separate agencies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.251.129.107 (talk) 19:51, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Riksbank Law 1999

[edit]

Aforementioned law came into effect on 1 January 1999. It made the Riksbank autonomous. Ref.: https://www.bis.org/review/r000531d.pdf As this is a salient element I think useful mention could be made of it in the article. Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 15:51, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
