Deletion Nomination[edit]

I feel like this article has a lot of first and second degree sources, alongside that of well reputed journals both UGC and International ones. I feel it contributes significantly to wikipedia, as wikipedia should always be unbiased. There are other pages on countless such insurgent movements and proposed countries from other parts of the world. So I feel it would be unfair to delete it. Article can however be modified

The Wikipedia page on the Independent Assam Movement is essential for providing a comprehensive understanding of a significant socio-political phenomenon in Indian history. The movement, driven by deep-seated issues of identity and subnationalism, has been extensively documented in scholarly works and authoritative sources. For instance, Nipon Haloi’s paper, "Identity, Group-Conflict and Subnationalism: The Assam Experience," offers critical insights into the cultural and political dynamics fueling the movement . The historical context and the ideological underpinnings of the movement are further elaborated in studies available on JSTOR, which provide an academic perspective on its origins and evolution . Additionally, books like "Swadhin Axom" delve into the broader implications of Assam's quest for independence, highlighting its impact on regional and national politics . The South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) provides a detailed account of the militant aspects associated with the movement, particularly the role of groups like ULFA, thereby presenting a balanced view that includes both peaceful and militant dimensions . These sources collectively ensure that the article meets Wikipedia's standards for verifiability, neutrality, and notability, making it a valuable resource for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of the Independent Assam Movement. 2409:4065:C42:7D1B:BC18:E469:99DE:C25D (talk) 18:19, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
